City of Arts And Science Of Valencia seen from the topCity of Arts And Science Of Valencia seen from the topIf you are planning to visit soon Valencia, or you are already there, you shouldn't miss the opportunity to have 50% discount at the entrance of the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias)! It's actually not a 50% discount, but a 2x1, buy two-pay one, on every kind of ticket except temporary exibhitions. In example if you are planning to buy 2 combined tickets for the Hemisfèric, Science Museum and Oceanogràfic, you will pay 32,90€ instead of 65,80€! And it works because that's what we did :)

So the trick is very simple. Until the end of the year (31/12/2012 at the moment, but it could be extended) there is a promotion saying that you will get this discount "Showing 3 promotional labels from the packages of 6 units of Choleck chocolate milkshakes". Basically what you have to do is to buy 3 packages of this product, save the labels and show it at the ticket office. It looks easy, but it's not that much, since these milkshakes (Batidos) are not easy to find. We tried different supermarkets all over the city with no luck, but don't worry. We are going to tell you also where we found it, so you will save some hours os stress running around the streets. In fact exactely in front of the Museum is a big Carrefour supermarket where they sell it. But pay attention, because the promotion is valid only with this brand of milkshakes, and only for the package of six boxes (not bottles) and only chocolate flavour. It shouldn't be difficult since on the package there is also a print with the City of Arts and Science, as you can see in this picture. They cost about 1,80€ each one, and actually also the milkshakes where in promotion, so we bought 3 packages for the price of 3,60€, that means a discount of up to 32,90€ with an expense of 3,60€, not bad! And plus you will have a lot of liquids to drink in the hot sun of Valencia.

And it's not all: if you are brave enough you could even get a free entrance. It's about asking people standing in line if they can take the free ticket for you. For them is no difference, they would pay anyway!I have to say that we tried and we didn't succeed with the free entrance, so eventually we took only the 2x1 discount. We found people that were eager to help us, but the employee at the ticket office wasn't speaking english and was really confused. So in case you feel like trying for the free ticket, the best is to find a couple in line, ask them to take 2 tickets with the 2x1 promotion plus one single ticket. You will have to take the single ticket so that you will be indipendent from them!
Hope I will make somebody happy with this trick :)
