How can we afford to travel non stop?

View of the Colosseum in Rome: HDR photography

View of the COlosseum in RomeView of the COlosseum in Rome

The Colosseum in Rome, seen from a terrace in "Via dei fori imperiali". This photo was taken last year, and it's the combination of 3 photos taken with different exposures (HDR technique). Nowadays the Colosseum view is partially obstructed by the fences built for the "eternal work" of the third metro in Rome.

Calabrian sea: Praia a Mare and its hidden arches

One of the rock Arches in the sea of Praia a MareOne of the rock Arches in the sea of Praia a Mare

Not a bad location to relax and read right? This was one of the several "hidden" beaches that it's possible to find in Praia a Mare in the italian region of Calabria, where we were last week. There is a small track to follow going through cliffs and tunnels, and ending up in beaches and caves. We will probably write soon a more

Maldives? No, that's Calabria!

Calabrian sea in TropeaCalabrian sea in Tropea

We are just back after a few weeks travelling in south of Italy, in Calabria, the region where I was born. We enjoyed the sun (actually it was almost unbearable sometimes), the sea and ice cream! We had time to visit a few places, before heading back to Rome for the wedding of a friend of mine, and we were actually really

Italy in a nutshell: sun, sea, vespa

Italy in a Nutshell: the golden sun lightning the sea behind a Vespa in Scilla, CalabriaItaly in a Nutshell: the golden sun lightning the sea behind a Vespa in Scilla, Calabria

While we were walking yesterday in the borough of Scilla, in the region of Calabria, at the exit of a church I had this vision through the fence. I though it was the perfect description of what foreigners think south of Italy is: sun, sea and vespas. Well, it's missing maphia, but we better get rid of that one. We are here in

An amazing chandelier in Villa Torlonia, Rome

While I was browsing through my photos to make a selection for a new article, I stumbled upon this shot and I thought it was worth to give it dignity and save it from oblivion. It's an amazing chandelier, seen in Villa Torlonia in Rome, residence of a wealthy family centuries ago, and home to the fascist dictator Mussolini

Dog portrait while hiking to Cinque Terre

A Dog just bumped in the scene at the perfect time for a portrait!A Dog just bumped in the scene at the perfect time for a portrait!

While we just started our hike from Valdipino to reach Cinque Terre, we spotted this dog bumping out of a courtyard. At first we were quite scared because he was just over our head and could have jumped in a second, but eventually everything was fine and we enjoyed his beauty and took this nice portrait!

This nice little bird with a orange brest is a "European Robin" a quite common but beautiful bird we were able to spot while hiking in Plitvice Lakes National Park. He didn't look scared, probably he was used to people, and he was just jumping around us!
