If you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway or perhaps that ideal honeymoon spot, why not consider going to one of quiet and peaceful hill stations where you will find yourself entranced in the tranquility and beauty of some of the most incredible places in the world. Though there are many places to visit within Delhi, I have put together a list of hill stations that are near Delhi, in the State of Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh, which are easily reachable by road and are not too expensive.
1. Kausani, Uttarakhand – 400km

Perfect for a romantic couple’s getaway, the Kausani is known as the Hidden Jewel of Kumaon. With its incredible 360 degree views including an unforgettable sight of the Himalayas, it is surrounded by nothing but some of the tallest trees you will ever see and deep beautiful gorges that stretch out as far as the eyes can see. One of the most romantic and memorable places to escape to, this Hill Top is one in a million.
2. Tabo, Himachal Pradesh – 800km

For those travelers looking for more of an adventure, Tabo offers plenty of hiking and climbing. It is considered to be one of the holiest places within the region of the Himalayas and remains one of the most peaceful places to spend your time. Once you reach your final destination, if the trails haven’t already done so, the amazing sights and beautiful scenery will surely take your breath away.
3. Ranikhet, Uttarakhand – 350km

With its amazing architecture and picture perfect views, this hill top is a world all in its own. Nothing beats the serene beauty of a cottage laden surround enclosed by beautiful oaks and grape vines. Who wouldn’t want to stay in such a peaceful environment?
4. Mount Abu, Rajasthan – 750km

Surrounded by some of the Country’s most impressive palaces, forts and temples, Mont Abu offers nothing but elegance and class with a touch of royalty. As you trek your way upside the curvy path leading you to the top of this splendorous site, you will find yourself encased in the overpowering beauty that this hill top has to offer. And what’s more, you will be able to indulge yourself in some of the most beautiful history that this Royal experience has to offer.
5. Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh – 500km

Home to the Dalai Lama, this hill top is one of the most favored by travelers due to its incredible views of the Himalayas, its incredible tranquility and unbelievable surroundings. Take a few minutes to soak in the gorgeous landscapes all the while, letting all your stresses and worries of everyday life escape into the deep depths of tranquility.
6. Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh – 600km

This stunning hill top surrounded by gorgeous pines and endless fields of enchanting flowers is one place that cannot be surpassed. This spectacular destination shows off the many wonders of this incredible country such as the beautiful snowcapped mountains and deep valleys filled with nothing but beauty and peace. It is the perfect place for a family escape where you can enjoy some quality time with your loved ones and have no worries other than which place to visit next.
7. Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand – 350km

Another top choice for honeymooners, this hill top displays endless views of beautiful landscapes, gorgeous valleys and a golden sunrise. It will be hard to leave this incredible place of peace and tranquility. There is no better place on Earth to wake up with the soothing sounds of chirping birds and the local wildlife. Reach up and touch the clouds with the incredible views of the gorgeous skies that sweep you off your feet and bring you to a whole other world.
These must see hill tops should be at the top of everyone’s bucket list. No matter which one you choose, you will leave a different person. Refreshed, relaxed and asking for more. As you take in the amazing views, breathtaking sights and experience the overall sensation of serenity, you will surely be planning your next trip before you even leave.
