Kids in Denge welcoming us and practicing englishKids in Denge welcoming us and practicing english

Our experience in Denge was double-faced. Here we were welcomed amazingly by local children, played with their handmade toys and even football, we had discussions and great interactions until their teacher arrived. It happens to be that their teacher, Mr Blasius, is also the owner of the only official accommodation in the village and he believed to have full power over the whole village. When he realized we were not planing to sleep at his touristic homestay, he started to get rude and angry, he dispersed the kids threatening them (seriously, what are you teaching them?!), and imposed us to leave the village and to go to sleep on the beach a dozen of km away.

Of course we didn’t obey to his authoritarian behavior, and we were eventually hosted for free by an extremely humble and generous local family, whose kids we were playing with before.
In Wae Rebo we would later meet other 2 travelers that actually stayed at his place the night before, and described him as being rude and not a good human being, and searched for alternative accommodation somewhere else once they were back in Denge.
Despite you will find some good reviews on internet about Mr Blasius homestay in Denge, we would never wish to give even 1 cent of our money to such a negative person. Yes, it's comfortable because it's the closest one to Wae Rebo.
But now you know also who runs it. Your choice.
