How can we afford to travel non stop?

Discover

About 7 months and over 12 000 km of roads passed since we left Oti's home in Romania in mid March to start our nomad travel. About the same distance that is separating Italy from Japan! We went from Romania, to Italy, to Spain, to Switzerland, and eventually to Norway where we are now. In the first part of the trip we explored the countries of the Ex-Jugoslavia, understanding a little bit more about the post war situation and the ethnic conflicts. Travel Map Hitchhiking 2012: since the maximum number of pins on Google Maps is 25, the map is intended to show only the route, not the places we stopped, that are at least 3 times more than the number of the pins!Travel Map Hitchhiking 2012: since the maximum number of pins on Google Maps is 25, the map is intended to show only the route, not the places we stopped, that are at least 3 times more than the number of the pins! After resting in Italy for 2 months we headed to Spain, visiting south of France first, and reached Valencia to say goodbye to Otilia's dear friend Claudia, that was supposed to leave to South Korea for 2 years. We then kept visiting Spain and volunteered in local projects, and crossed even into Portugal, that we wanted to visit before maybe heading to Morocco.

But from there we got a little bit unexpectedly a temporary job in Switzerland, as outdoor educators with kids from International schools. So we had to hitchhike all the way back in a short time! And we charged our finances with a  little bit of cash for some more months of travelling. And when we were about to go back to Romania, in just a few hours we decided to change direction and to go in Norway over the Artic Circle to try to spot Northern Lights!

So quite a lot of changements in these months, different countries, cultures and environments. We passed from the economic crisis in Spain, to the wealthiness of Switzerland and Norway, and from 45°C in Spain, to -20°C and 60 cm of snow here in North of Norway (and it's still autumn)! Since we had only summer clothes with us, we decided to stop a few days in Berlin to visit my dear ArcoFriend Jose, and to do some "shopping" in cheap second hand shops and free shops in social centers and associations. Flexibility is the key :)

So all of this just to show how much our plans are changing and evolving, and basically we never decided anything! This is life for a Gypsy traveller! Things are just coming if you are open and looking for them. If you are not looking for changement, things will stay the same!
