Every Year in Jukkasjärvi, Swedish Lapland not far from Kiruna, is build an ice hotel that can accommodate more than 100 people, made completely of ice, the first one of this kind in the world since 1990. Every year a new structure is build in December and different artists are called to realize the rooms and suites, all different one from the other. Everything is made of ice, from the walls to the beds to the glasses. More than an hotel, visiting it is like attending an art exhibition. About 900 tons of ice is used, taken from the nearby river. In April when the temperature is getting too warm, the Hotel is closed and start to melt down, waiting for next year, to be built again.

Davide VadalàDavide Vadalà
I like to say that I'm a gypsy traveller. In 2009 I quit my job to chase my dream of exploring our wonderful planet in a sustainable way; thanks to my itchy feet, I had a lot of incredible adventures and I got closer to my goal of becoming a travel photographer. I love nature, sustainability, outdoor and hiking, and I never stop dreaming. More about Davide Vadala'. Content attribution on Google +
